Hey everyone

Hey there everybody, I know I have not been around a lot lately but I have been hard at word writing some books so here is an excerpt from My newest work in Progress the fifth book in the Stealing a Pirate’s Heart ( The Fire In a Gypsies Heart)

As soon as they got on deck Mark was pointing his finger at Nadya.  “I caught that woman stealing from me last night, I want her thrown in jail as soon as we hit land.”

“She was with me all night, there is no way she took anything from you.”  Ronny returned, repulsed by the accusation.

“Are you calling me a liar?”  Mark returned.

“That’s exactly what I am doing.  She was with me all night.” Ronny returned.

“And what were you two doing all night while you were supposed to be watching for other ships?”

“We were watching for other ships and she was keeping me company.”

“You have no proof.”

“Neither do you.”

“Yes but I am the captain the crew has to listen to me, whether or not I have proof.”  Mark said with a menacing smile.  “Take her to the brig until we reach land, I want her in a cell, not the shackles.”

“You’ll have to put me in the cell with her.”  Ronny returned stepping in front of Nadya and grasping her hand tightly.

“Ronny don’t.”  James requested.

“I’m not backing down from this.”  Ronny said through clenched teeth.

“Then you’ll go to jail with her.”  Mark returned.

“Captain you can’t do that.”  James returned.

“I am captain I can do whatever I want.”  He answered.

Before anyone else could say anything Ronny and Nadya were being drug off.  “Oh and make sure they go in the same cell, I am well aware of Ronny’s claustrophobia.” Mark added just before they drug the two of them down the stairs.

It didn’t even take a minute of them being in the cell before Ronny started shaking, breathing heavily.  He kicked at the door a few times then slammed his body into it trying to break out, he retreated to the corner, sitting down, after a half hour or more of his frenzy.  His body was still shaking.  Nadya walked over to him and sat down next to him taking his hand.

“Why would you do this for me if you are claustrophobic?”  She asked.

“Because, you’re worth it.”  He answered as he looked up at her.  “We should only be in here for an hour or so before they hit land and they will move us to the jail.”  He added.

“Will you be alright for that hour?”  She asked.

“I don’t know, usually I just get put in the shackles.”  He answered.

“Think about something else.”  She answered.

“Like what?”  He asked.  “I’m stuck with bars surrounding me in a tiny space.”

“Me.”  She answered bluntly.  “Think about me, and last night.”

“Then we would have a whole other problem.”  He stated.

“Yeah but it’s something we could solve in here.”  She returned.

He smiled.  “Are you trying to seduce me Nadya?”

“If it will help.”  She answered squeezing his hand.

Ronny leant in and kissed her quickly, before he could get any other motion in there was a clanging on the cell.  “Get up lover boy it’s time to go.”  One of the other privateers said.  Ronny never bothered to remember many of their names, most of them just looked down on him because he was so young.

He stood up and helped Nadya to her feet, he could see the fear in her eyes as the man grabbed them both by their arms.  Ronny was already concocting a plan in his head as the guy threw them both in a row boat.  Only two others climbed in with them.  He knew he could at least get Nadya free.  The rest of the gypsies were in the rowboat after them, with only two privateers in it.

As soon as one of them went to grab Nadya Ronny kicked him back and he fell into the shallow water.  “Run Nadya!”  Ronny yelled as he pulled his fist back and slammed it into the other guy’s face.  The last one ran up to him and Ronny grabbed him and slammed his head into his.

Ronny tried to run after Nadya but the one he knocked into the water grabbed his foot and he fell face first into the dirt.  He got up to see the other rowboat coming up to the sand.  He looked at Noel.  “Take care of Nadya for me.”  He yelled as the other crew members surrounded him.  Ronny fought for a good twenty minutes trying to get free, but once they had him contained they tied him up and tossed him back in the rowboat.  A couple of the others tried to go after Nadya but Ronny kept tripping them, until they got out of his reach.

They all came back to the rowboat about ten minutes later when they realized that all of the gypsies were out of sight.  They rowed him back to the ship, one of them kicked him in his chest, pretty much stomping on him.  He coughed up some of the blood that was in his mouth from the struggle, making sure to spit it on the guy that stomped on him.  The guy went to go hit Ronny again but then one of the others stopped him.

“What the hell Aaron why didn’t you make them come back?” She questioned, angrily.

“Ronny got into a fight, the bartender was wrapping him up real quick and we were going to head back to the ship as soon as he was done.” Aaron answered.

“Excuse me miss how much do you charge?” Said a man with dark hair and cruel eyes as he approached her.

“What?” She questioned shocked at what the man had said.

“How much do you charge for… your services in the bedroom?” He repeated eyeing over her.

Celestia didn’t get a chance to answer before the man was on his ass holding his jaw. She looked at Gabe in shock. What the hell was that for? Before she could yell at him he pulled her close quickly and took her lips in an aggressive kiss.

The tavern was silent. Aaron stared at his son in awe, but Celestia matched his stare perfectly. She shook her head, breaking herself from the shock of it.

“Aaron get the crew to the ship as soon as Ronny is bandaged up, Gabe Rowboat Now!” She yelled furious as she stormed out of the tavern.

Gabe looked at his father, whom just shook his head at him and crossed his arms. He left the tavern quickly and caught up with Celestia and rowed them across to the ship then. He was waiting for her to speak but from what it looked like she was trying to calm down so he didn’t say anything.

She climbed up the rope ladder quickly and stood there with her arms crossed, waiting for him to get up there. She looked at him, fire in her eyes, and shook her head.

“What the hell were you thinking?” She yelled.

“I’m sorry but I couldn’t let him talk to you like that.” He returned as he started to walk down to the barracks.

“That doesn’t give you the right to hit some random man that you have never met.” She yelled. “I knew that was going to happen as soon as I walked in there. It’s part of being a female Captain and now the whole crew is going to think that they can lay their damn hands on me because you kissed me in front of everyone.”

“Sorry Celestia what else was I supposed to do?” He returned raising his voice.

“Anything else!” She screamed. “You don’t realize what I have to do now, do you?”

“What are you talking about?” He questioned.

She glanced around to see that the crew was in sight already. She took a deep breath and held back tears, she didn’t want to stick him in the brig but she had to so that the rest of the crew would realize that she wouldn’t tolerate that kind of behavior. She saw Aaron and a couple of the other crew board the ship then.

“Gabe you are to spend the day in the brig until you get your emotions under control.”

“Celestia…”

“Captain!”

“Captain, you can’t be serious.”

“I am, Aaron let’s take him to the brig. Get those damn boats up so we can get back on schedule!”

She grabbed Gabe’s arm and Aaron grabbed the other. Gabe didn’t fight much, He just let them take him down below the barracks and to the brig as they called it.

The brig was on the bottom part of the ship and it was a small area with three cells. The walls were nothing but bars and so was the door. The lighting was dim, barely any. Aaron unlocked the door and Gabe just walked into the cell. Celestia reached in between the bars and ran her hand across his cheek.

“I am sorry Gabe.” She said apologetically. “But I had to make sure the crew knew that it is not alright to do that, I can let you out in a little while but you’ll have to swab the deck unless you stay all night.”

“What the hell is going on with the two of you?” Aaron asked.

“Nothing.” Celestia answered. “I have to go check on the rest of the crew and make sure they all know that they are in trouble.” She said as she headed back up the stairs.

“What’s really going on between the two of you?” Aaron questioned looking at Gabe, intently, wanting the truth from at least his son.

“Nothing.” Gabe answered.

“So you just punch random men for talking to any woman?” He questioned. “Then kiss the woman in front of them basically as a statement that she is yours?”

Gabe chuckled. “I have no clue why I did that.”

Excerpt from Arriani

The Rise of the Royal Elven

by Jessica Anderson

Arriani walked late in the afternoon when she realized she had no idea where she was going and really didn’t care.  She just wanted to be anywhere other than where she came from.  She came across a town, the name was familiar but she didn’t remember why.

She stopped to get supplies for her oncoming journey not realizing how hungry she was until then.  A man with white hair walked up to her, he had a long beard just as white as his hair and gave her a kind smile showing wrinkles and eyes that held wisdom that she wished to know.

“Dear, you have plenty of weapons, do you know how to use them all to their full potential?” he questioned.

“I am fairly good with my weapon mastery,” Arriani answered, almost insulted by his assumption.

“My name is Yuro and if you are any kind of swordsman you will know who I am,” he returned.

She bowed her head out of respect, then stood quickly.  “Master Yuro, I am good with my weapons but every swordsman worth their salt knows you are the best,” she answered quickly.

“My dear, I look in your eyes and I see pain, but what I also see is a fighter.  Take some time and think about training with me.  You hold a certain sparkle in the depth of your eyes and I would like an opportunity to see just how deep it goes.  Allow me to train you, with my skill and knowledge, you will one day supersede me,” he replied.

Arriani thought long and hard about what she wanted to do when she made the decision to spend her time away training.  She was glad she found the nice little village with the extremely talented swordsman, Yuro.  He was one of the greatest swordsman ever heard of.  She would be a fool not to take his offer.

“You honor me, Master, with your offer.  And I graciously accept,” Arriani answered, then bowed.Image
